London being the heart and centre of Britain has earned its reputation as a world culture capital. It has always been a source of inspiration for me with its rich history and emerging new talents in music, fashion, art and design.
One of my favorite artists, Zhu Tian, is London-based and traces of multi-cultural influences can be found in her work which often displays emotions and individualism with a sense of humor. Her multicultural background definitely plays an important part in her creative process, and it has inspired me to seek inspiration in other culture in my own work.
Now in my second year of graduate school studying product and interaction design, my interest lies in exploring the relationship between humans and machine and creating natural interactions through multimedia approaches. I’m very excited to learn about that in London.
It goes without saying that for young designers it’s important to have a global vision in this ever-changing industry. I feel deeply grateful for this opportunity and look forward to explore London’s design scene in a few months’ time.
